Flags represent just about everything; from nations to religious rituals, family crests to group identities. When we associate symbols and icons with a group they can become beacons of connection and camaraderie or expressions of division and isolation.

What about personal flags? What would yours look like? What would it say? What symbols would you add?

In 2024 the Action Forum is focused on the theme of light and how we move through darkness in our personal and collective lives.

As part of this event we ask participants to create their own personal prayer flags that will be hung across the campus. These flags empower us to express how we’re feeling in this moment and engage us to share a vision for our future.

Here are some prompts to guide our flag making:

  • HOW DO YOU REPRESENT HOPE?

  • WHAT IS A SOURCE OF LIGHT IN YOUR LIFE?

  • WHAT DOES THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

  • WHAT SYMBOL KEEPS YOU PRESENT AND GROUNDED?

  • WHAT WORD ANCHORS YOU WHEN YOU FEEL UNTETHERED?
